Street Dance (Hip-Hop, Breakdance, Modern Dance)
Street dance is a recent phenomenon. It is one of the new emerging dance forms that are very popular with the youth. Street dance is defined as a contemporary dance style originating form the inner-city youth of the USA. This dance is characterized by highly energetic and dynamic movements, and is performed in both regular and syncopated beats and rhythm.
Students will:
- execute basic street dance steps, transitions and combinations in dance routine;
- understand and appreciate the significance of dance and fitness;
- Develop basic coordination and rhythmic abilities in regular beats;
- Appreciate musical styles (R&B, Rap metal, mainstream hip-hop)
Our classes follow the Australian Teachers of Dancing (ATOD) syllabuses.
For ages 5 to adult, students are able to take exams yearly, examined by an external examiner from Australia.
